Common Questions
Everything you need to know about our tidal marsh, oyster village, and coastal bay walks in Galway
Our walks range from 2 to 4 hours depending on the route. The Dunbulcaun Marsh Loop is our easier option at around 2 hours, while the Clarinbridge Oyster Village tour and longer bay pathways take closer to 3–4 hours with rest stops included. We always pace things so you're not rushed.
Yes. We design our routes specifically with varied fitness levels in mind. There are regular rest points, and we offer easier options like the Dunbulcaun walk which sticks to flat, established paths. Just let us know your pace when you book and we'll make sure the walk's right for you.
Bring waterproof layers, sturdy walking shoes with grip (marshes can be damp), and binoculars if you enjoy birdwatching. Spring and autumn are brilliant for wildlife; summer's great for coastal views. Winter walks are quieter but can be muddy. Our gear guide has full details on what to pack for each season.
On the Clarinbridge Oyster Village Experience, yes—we visit working beds and explain how oyster farming's done. You'll see the traditional harvesting methods and learn about the village's maritime heritage. It's a real working landscape, not a museum.
Get in touch using our contact form and let us know which walk interests you and your preferred dates. We'll confirm availability and send you details about what to expect, what to bring, and our cancellation terms. Bad weather might mean rescheduling, but we'll work with you on that.
Absolutely. The Dunbulcaun Bay paths are particularly good for photography and sketching, and we build in time for you to pause and capture what you see. Just let us know beforehand if you'd like to focus on that.
